Erich Segal (professor of classical literature at Yale university) was an American author, screenwriter, and educator. He was best-known for writing the novel "Love Story", a bestseller, and writing the motion picture of the same name, which was a major hit. Before he wrote "Love Story" in 1968, Professor Erich Segal was a star on Yale’s campus. Not because he taught ancient Greek and Latin literature, but because he co-wrote the screenplay to the Beatles movie, "Yellow Submarine".
